Pneu kaputt

We finally managed to leave la friche and planned to go out in the nature into the mountains after such a long time of citylife -and we were very convinced, that this time we would make it to come to a new place before it would be getting dark ! ;-)

Well… when it was getting dark we found ourselves under a bridge on a river - somewhere in the nature, yes, but not where we should have arrived actually. How did this happen?

Well, it was when it was still light, having been driving through lots of beautiful nature already, that suddenly the white bus (which was going behind us -driven by the Austrian girls who had been driving strange all day) started to make strange blink-blink signs and then just stopped on the sidewalk. So we stopped to.

We found out it was because of us that they had stopped, well, because of our trailor actually.

The one wheel (pneu) of the trailor was totally ruined. It had some huge scratches all over…

We were still wondering how did that happen and how to fix it suddenly a man appeared out of the nowhere and offered us help. Tarzan and him changed the wheel without any problems within a very short time - as the trailor had a third wheel that we could use, as Tarzan had a lot of strenght and as the man had everything else we needed: which is good ideas and a pump.

We believed in some strange kind of coincidance (some of us also that this guy was an alien) and went on happily thinking destiny was totally on our side :-)

Slowly we were starting to realize we wouldn’t make until it would be getting dark, but this couldn’t stop us from being happy just to be out of the city.

We decided to search for a nice place to stay for the night - suddenly the white bus was making weird signals again. We stopped - and found the second wheel totally destroyed also.

We tried not to think about it as it wouldn’t help anyhow and just have a nice night.

No idea why all this happened, but we had just stopped in the best place we could ever have found: a parking on a small river with a bridge and next to it some palets which we could use as firwood. We cooked some reeeeaaaaallly nice food and tried not to freeze on the fire… then went to sleep in the busses.

In the morning I had to go to toilet urgently -but as I was sleeping up in the bus and knew how difficult it would be to get back up there and in the sleeping bag again- didn’t want to creep out of my sleeping bag.  I just thought, ok, I will stay as long as possible lying there and in the last possible moment I get up, go piss, and then just stay awake (the sun was shining outside already).

So I waited and when it was getting too much ran out to search for a nice place to pee as fast as possible. Astrid just came walking towards me and told something about nice friendly construction workers and just led me into a house with a toilet. I could’t understand the world any more, but somehow we had managed to end up in such a good place, that we were just invited for a goodmorning tea from the (really hospitable) youth worker of the local commune who lived in the house nearby and who later on also drove Astrid and Birgit to a workshop where they could order a new wheel.

Later on we found out that even this could not have happened very propably, as the size of our wheels is not common at all any more (our trailor is very old) and the propability that any random workshop in any random village somewhere in the mountains in France has this size still is really not big!

But whatever…

One more sentence to say: we made it, we reached the place before it was getting dark. At least the parking. But well, we had to walk up to the village in the dark ;-)
