We are now camping for a few days near Perpignan on the beach to make holidays from all the stress of the tour and find some time for ourselves (=the group)…
The way coming here was very funny, finding our first french hitchhiker and a lots of old palets, as well as lots of nice food in the dumpsters of several supermarkets.
We are in a totally amazing place now, nearby a river and just at the beach. Lots of bamboo and cactee figues… hmmmm
And lots of nice dumpstered food, that we cook on the fire. We had a lot of sun the last days and warm nights, sleeping outside and our place was to stay here til next weekend when we want to go to Spain.
Just last night it was starting to rain and is raining still and so now we are wondering if we should stay or leave to more south…
We spent the last days with meeting and discussing a lot, finally finding good organisation structures and making lots of plans about workshops we could do the next days… from making toothpaste and how to write protocols to clown army workshops and lot more … also had the plan to clean up the natural reserve there all together, as people put a lot of trash in the forests and on the beach.
We were - after all this tiring time from la friche, the mountains and Montpellier - finally getting a good and sensitive feeling for the group again, found lots of amazing communication and organisatiuon structures - we agreed on daily sunset meetings and different books (the white book, the black book and the blue book) as well as a pinboard in the white bus for organising workflow, project analysis and presentation of our project - and are for this feeling so well even though the SoWell is now really finished very soon
We are at the moment 4 busses and 15 people. Our third bus with Markus and Pierre arrived when we were in Montpellier still and yesterday evening Johannes from our partnerproject migrobirdo arrived together in their “yellow submarine” (a colourful, old + crappy, lovely swedish hippie bus;-) ) with an international group of ecological activists (5 people, from England, Kanada, …) whom he met on a forest occupation action in Frankfurt/Main (against the new airport being built and the forest being destroyed for this).
We also built a very nice traditional sauna/sweatlodge on the beach, you put hot stones inside and after that swim in the sea- it really makes you feel like being reborn!
One more interesting thing: we found an old empty farmers house, just nearby the place we are parking, which wood be fantastic for living with like 30 people, doing permacultural agriculture and ecological projects and seminaries there, or something like that. We are trying to find out the owner now.
Thanks Peter for finding this beautiful place (and thanks google maps) and for the sweatlodge,
thanks all for the constructive discussions and talks in the last days,
and thanks to McDolandia for the free wireless LAN
Keep spacing out!
