Masia la Torre

We have just arrived at this interesting and tranquillo community and there is much to say about it but we want to write the full article when we leave in about one week. Until then just an update…

Christmas on the beach was great and we were all thankfull for a nice sunny day, specially when the next day was rainy, and at a meeting held with the now 9 of us in the black bus we decided to start the journey waking up at 8 am, which was perfect timing to stumble out of the bus and see a big red ball of fire rising out of the sea and disappearing in the clouds a few minutes later.

On the road for most of the day we passed many delicious orange fields, and finnally up to the hills passing old old villages, we finally arrive, just after dark ;) to an old farm house in a nice vally with forest hills and farm fields all around. Only one (of the normally 8 people) was there, most of the other being away for a few days at their olive tree fields in another location. Raul kindly took us in and showed us around their house by night after which we relaxed in a nice warm room (they have an almost unlimited supply of firewood) looking over our project books and thinking about workshops we want to do.
Next day was a tour, around to the chicken, empty fields (they have enough of their own vegetable only in summer), the goats, a camping place they must undertake, and the newly installed solar panels and windmill!

All in all, this is a interesting place, we are happy to be here and feel we are making productive interaction with the community members, with signs like in the eating room there is hanging many schedules for workshops and work, (we’ve so far helped to build a small rock wall and baked alot of bread in an old fashioned brick oven this morning!)
