donkeys and olives

ALL NAMES OF PLACES HAVE BEEN CENSORED/CHANGED FOR REASONS OF RESPECT AS PEOPLE IN THIS PLACE DON’T WANT TO BE IN THE INTERNET.

hola!

This is again Anja writing - I am back at the tour!

We are staying in “–” now, which is basically a very open and international house up in the mountains near – (nearby Alicante).

Well, actually it is 2 houses, the one of  Juan , who is political guy helping in a -very good!- pirate radio of –, and the one of George of Mexico, who is living a spiritual quiet life up on the mountain.

We are staying in the house of Juan … “we”, that is - at the moment - Sam and me (from Germany), Darta and Ieva from Latvia, Paz from England, Gery from Hungary and another 2 guys, one from Spain and one from Switzerland.

We spend our days mostly with gathering wood and cooking, recycling stuff and running round in the montanas. It is a simple life up here - and very quiet. The nature is really beautiful… incredible!!!

Before I came the others spent several days with collecting olives from trees around that nobody harvests and gathered like 500kg of olives - which makes around 120 litres of olive oil!

Tomorrow we will bake bread in the nice stove and then clean the black bus … to then hurry after the white bus the day after tomorrow, which is in a nice project nearby Almeria already…

Yeah well… only two busses remained after the “hippie bus”/”rainbow submarine” broke down (what a short and intense life…!) and Markus and Pierre went back to Germany with “the punk bus”…

I am really happy to be with the others again.. and to be out of the city… I mean I really love Barcelona but also I really prefer the countryside a lot!

My Spanish improves everyday and I eventually found somebody who is kind of the same good (or bad ;-) ) as me, Ieva is my perfect learning group partner I guess :-)

We are now in a “centro social” (squatted social centre) in –, which has shower and internet - and is just a really nice place with nice people. They are really in fear at the moment as police was here the last days and it’s probably goin to be evicted soon (which means: in the next days).

Other things to tell… hmmm … we had the most spectacular dumpster diving action of my life today!

In a huge supermercado-place with a high high fence and walls

… we were found by a security men

who then tried to “convince” us for sure not to come back

to get the “jackpot” we had just found and that he forced us to leave there

He was talking lots of crap bout the camera that was watchin

g us and police and they would put dogs there in the night and blablabla (…)

all in Spanish of course which mae it even worse ;-)

Of course we went over the fence again to get the stuff, some 10 or 20 kilos of pasta and other nice things

So we ran over the fence damn quick (it really felt like action movie) and then pulled the stuff up the wall -really proffesional move!- with a rope to then finally run back to the car very fast and drive away feelin like -very sucessful!- criminals or something :-)

When we leave we’ll get more food then in an organic farm on the way to Almeria

They have really nice stuff there and we wanna buy huge amount of basic stuff like grains etc

so we just have some food for a while

The trailor will be so full, yummie :-)

So far

Gonna pick some photos now and upload this

and then go back to the mountain!

Hasta luego amig@s!
